On-going Floating Support

Our ongoing decluttering support is ideal for those who may find a declutter and/or deep clean over a few days too overwhelming. It’s important to understand that this approach is slower and can take time to bring the home to a safe and manageable standard. Progress is guided by the client's level of engagement and their willingness to work with the team throughout the process.

Referrals can be made directly by the individual or by a professional involved in their care, such as a social worker, GP, or someone from their wider support team and can be funded privately or through direct payments following a care needs assessment.

To begin, a free, no-obligation 30-minute introductory visit is offered at the individual’s home. This provides an opportunity to ask questions and for the team to explain how our support works. During the visit, we will discuss how many hours of support may be needed each week and identify key areas to focus on. Depending on the level of clutter and other factors, ongoing support may involve one or two support workers each week.

The individual remains in full control at all times, making all decisions about what to keep or let go of. Support workers will work alongside them at their pace, focusing on the areas that matter most and helping to sort through items, removing anything the individual no longer wants or needs. We can either dispose of items, or donate them to charity, depending on client preference.

Our ongoing support to learn life skills includes:

  • Learning how to safely maintain home environments

  • Building confidence and independence within the home

  • Create lasting habits; with tools such as timetables or weekly planners
